Charity Quilts Churn dash

I recently had the privilege of completing a quilt project for a family of a deceased quilter.  Apparently, her quilting cache was significant and a bit overwhelming for the family in knowing what to do with it all.  They contacted a Prairie Lakes Quilters guild member and after discussing options it was decided to have the guild members construct quilts and donate them to Project Linus and hospice.  There were a few quilts in-progress which needed completion and the guild members decided to present these back to the family.  It was one of those projects that I chose to complete.  Adorable Churn-dash blocks, so bright and sunny in the colors, it just makes me smile.  I added sashing/blocks and borders and free-motion quilted them.  There were 50 blocks which would have made one huge! quilt, so instead I constructed 2 lap sized quilts.

The natural sun light was absolutely perfect on this picture day! Enjoy the quilting texture and the sunny disposition of the blocks.  I know the family will appreciate seeing their loved one's quilt(s) completed.

  1. Wow these are amazing and what a treasure they will be for the family. Love how you have quilted them and the backs make them double sided quilts.
