Metro Medallion quilt

I've recently completed my Metro Medallion quilt (pattern by Sew Kind of Wonderful) and I think it turned out awesome!! This quilt is intended for my son, Steven, for his birthday at the end of this month.  Last fire season when he was stationed in Taos, New Mexico he bought several original, hand-crafted batik fabric fat quarters and gave them to me for my birthday.  They are beautiful and I wanted to showcase them rather than cut them up so I chose the metro medallion pattern which really allows them to shine! Enjoy!

  1. I knew you had to be working on something you have been gone too long. This quilt is beautiful and your quilting is gorgeous. Before I read you story (I'm like a kid, I look at the pictures first, then read the story LOL) When I first looked at the pictures I immediately thought of fire and water. Then to find out your firefighter son gave you the fabric, perfect, I can't imagine my son buying fabric. You lucky mom. I have been eyeing this pattern for some time, I have the ruler for a year and haven't used it yet.

It's just amazing, love all of it. I've started at the pictures for 10 minutes and I'm going back to look again!!
