Waterwheel Spin!

I quilted this some time ago for a client and just realized I hadn't posted any pictures of Buzzsaw  Waterfall Spin (pattern by Klaudeen Hanson).   It was made with batik fabrics and measures ~75 x75.  I believe this quilt would fall into the tessellating category with negative and positive images of the "spin".  The client chose a beautiful yellow batik fabric for the backing. My dilemma was the negative image, as it was made with a black fabric and black thread on the yellow backing screamed every little bobble and wobble and was so stark it hurt my eyes looking at it...so I ripped out the whole top border done with black thread and decided to use Glide gold over the entire piece...I mean if the thread is going to stand out then let's make it worth looking at! Now in hindsight I could have used a monopoly over these areas but that's hindsight for you, never comes into mind at time you need it.  Getting back to the quilting...well it's pretty much a feathery mess in the interior, but flip it to the back and it has such gorgeous texture! I love the backing!  The border has a geometric design and gives a solid structure to the beautiful bumpy interior.
